Axial lead power inductors have a structure similar to ordinary through-hole inductors, except that a capacitor is connected to each side of the dumbbell-shaped core. Copper wire is wound around the drum-shaped core, and the exterior of the product is coated with an epoxy resin coating. The purpose of the epoxy coating is not only to protect the wires but also to improve the reliability of the product and extend its service life. They can stabilize the current. Color-coded inductors help stabilise current in a circuit. When the current rises, the color-coded inductor generates an induced electromotive force, preventing the current from rising further. When the current falls, the color-coded inductor releases the stored energy, slowing the decrease in current.
